Cadaver study

Further investigation of air leakage with SAD was performed by a series of tests on a Fix4Life prepared preparation in the dissecting department of the VU Hospital in Amsterdam.

Three research questions were answered:

• Is a Fix4Life preparation suitable for real life airway management simulations?
• Can we simulate a leakage with a SAD?
• Can we influence the leakage through modification of the internal anatomy by applying pressure form the outside?

The answer to all questions was: YES.

Air leakage with a SAD can be solved by applying pressure from the outside.
